NAKAL DOMPIPOU

At a short distance from Kanal - Centre Pompidou, Nakal Dompipou takes place within a domestic space, without a recognisable façade or explicit signage. Its proximity to an institution in transformation creates a point of tension: not to reproduce it on a smaller scale, nor to oppose it directly, but to remain beside it - slightly out of phase.

Nakal Dompipou functions as an unstable micro-environment where gestures, protocols and display structures borrowed from institutional contexts circulate in altered forms: displaced, simplified, diverted, or rendered partially inoperative. What is presented here is rarely a “finished” work in the conventional sense, but propositions that accept fragility, latency, incompletion, or the possibility of failure as part of their condition.

We privilege light, modest or experimental forms: temporary installations, discreet objects, rudimentary devices, activatable protocols, silent interventions or unstable structures. Works may evolve over time, appear and disappear, function only partially, or remain almost unnoticed. The exhibition is not conceived as a fixed composition, but as a territory in progress - one that does not fully stabilise at the moment of opening.

The framework is not thematic but operative. The space is structured through active tensions: between visibility and withdrawal, structure and drift, activation and dormancy, frame and overflow. Play operates here not as entertainment, but as a mode of organisation - a set of explicit or implicit rules that can be followed, circumvented or reconfigured. The aim is less to produce autonomous objects than to generate situations, temporary relations and shifting conditions of attention.

Interactions may occur within the space, but they are neither mandatory nor fully scripted. Certain propositions may remain almost invisible. Within this context, positions are never entirely fixed: those of the artist, the visitor, the organiser, or the space itself.

Nakal Dompipou operates as a testing ground: a place for coexistence between practices, where exhibition-making is approached as an open, collective and continuously transforming process. The central question is not simply what is shown, but how a proposition holds - or fails to hold - within a changing environment, and what begins to drift, resist or quietly activate in the process.
